This is my first time having fun with this new Kawasaki KIPS 150. Registration number is WPS, which buying at 2008. It’s not mine but belong to one of my friends, Ahmad Fakhry, he is Indonesian. I ‘borrow’ his bike when he going back to his hometown. Just for a month, this is last December. Have a review of myself about this bike.
Climbing on top of the bike, this baby Kawasaki just fit myself with the slimmer tank, and has a spirit size of 150cc. The handlebars for me, just simple and not bring you a very sport position. It’s come with a normal fork, not the up side down. Plus single front and rear disc. The whole cover set will show you the quality built of this little bike. It’s a very fresh look comparing to previous model, but I don’t have the old kips for comparison. The tube frame is look muscular, like a Ducati, and it’s come with an interesting rear swing arm, which have an additional extension steel frame. No electrical starter in package, but after my kick start, the revving of this little engine is very responsive. It’s a very high revving engine and very smooth. The revving is up to 13000 rpm in the red line. The overall engine is just a 150cc two stroke, which you need to buy addition oil just for this engine. I don’t have additional information or specific information. Maybe you can have additional information about this bike in the motorbike shop nearby. The instrument on board is very neat, with a look of fiber glass frame. Plastic feel expensive, and the built is very neat. If you have ride a super sport, you know what a usual instrument is on board. But no digital meters, all are analog. I’m 5’8”, look ok to ride it, just fit to the wide seat and the foot rest. I try to use it on a very different condition as I can. One is a normal sunny day on highway going to Sungai Besi, just to have a feel of it on three lane roadway. Later in a very heavy rain on Jalan Sentul going back to my home. Other condition is having a very heavy traffic jam in Bukit Bintang, and other parts of Kuala Lumpur. From most condition, driving very slow about 50km/h with other cub, to a high speed of 150km/h on highway, is totally can be done by this bike. I also try to ‘play’ with other cars to see their respond, but this bike manage to keep me not only in front, but left them far behind. Very responsive engine, but I’m only put it up to 150km/h only, even the throttle have more power to pump in. Not dare to do that since I ride in with no safety suit. The speed is very good, and I’m 72kg person. I doesn’t know much about the pricing, but it suppose to be around RM 10K, which can be comparing with other new 150cc rival, like Honda CBR 150 and Yamaha 150i. It’s suitable for a person who wants to learn managing a very responsive 150cc two stroke. Later you can buy another bike with more horsepower. Thanks for reading and i will add on later...
